 At the helm of SAFE International is Christopher Roberts. Chris founded SAFE
International in 1994. Shortly after the formation of the firm he identified that there was a lack
of practical and effective self protection instruction for the younger members of the population.
One of his prime concerns has always been todays youth. Chris designed an exceptional program
specifically for students at the high school level addressing their specific needs. Chris says
"SAFE International believes that Personal Self Defense Protection Education beginning
at the High School level helps to develop and ensure that these students transition into our
communities and workplaces as more confident and responsible individuals and strengthens our
society. Learning why and how to avoid confrontations may hopefully also translate to not
being the originators of confrontation."

Chris personally instructs and consults women and
men privately on a weekly basis. His private clients include mothers, fathers, daughters, police
officers, seniors, and people with disabilities. Chris believes that if a technique could not be
taught and learned quickly, it would never be effective or valuable. Chris is constantly studying
and implementing new techniques when they fit his criteria of being simple but effective. "If
the technique might save a life, I am interested. Our techniques are taught on the basis of Gross
Motor movements." says Chris.
Chris is a 1st degree Black Belt in Shotokan
Karate.
Chris developed the SAFE International Personal
Self Defense reality based course which has been taught to more than 150 000 clients.
Chris is a former certified Commando Krav Maga
(CKM) self defense instructor under Moni Aizik, founder of Commando Krav Maga. Because of the legal
turbulance associated with the system, Chris no longer offers this particular system in
training.
Chris is actively expanding his knowledge base by
training with Robb Hamic, Certified Law Enforcement Trainer, Chief Instructor of
SUMMIT self-defense®). It is important to Chris Roberts to
evolve as both a teacher and student himself. Chris is always adding to his skill set and that
includes receiving training from Robb Hamic in the areas of:
- Israeli Self Defense
- Ground Survival
- Israeli Tactical Knife Fighting (ITK)
- Combat Wrestling
- Israeli Combat Shooting
The SAFE International Program of instruction is a
solid system for men, women and mature young adults. The system's main objective is to disengage
after the attack is stopped, which is a more realistic approach for most people in the world. The
SAFE International Program of instruction is not a punishment system, but if the situation
warrants, it uses devastating tactics to allow people to survive deadly and violent attacks. People
who know the SAFE International Program can use its tactics to survive stressful attacks and
fights.
Chris has appeared on numerous television shows and
has written a number of online articles on personal safety and personal self defense. Other
influences on Chris have been authors Gavin De Becker as well as Daniel Giosu, Russell Stutely,
Sammy Franco and Tim Larkin.
