The core of our method is based on the S.P.E.A.R. SYSTEM tm which is the first genetically and behaviorally inspired self-defense course of its' kind. It is the only self defense method that fully integrates the body's reflexive responses and instinctive survival mechanisms making the S.P.E.A.R. tm the easiest, most natural way to protect yourself. Our program also includes unique and patented learning models but most importantly, we have pioneered research on how to manage and overcome fear. Training in our system engenders personal evolution: Our breakthrough research on fear management is the foundation of our program and understanding and directing fear is the key to overcoming any obstacle in life.

OUR TEACHING DOCTRINE
We only teach realistic self-defense skills that are street applicable. Students are exposed to aggressive as well as defensive role-playing to simulate encounters and to prepare them to react ethically as well as decisively to real-life aggression. Our curriculum covers verbal defusing tactics, choice speech principles and a host of other behaviorally researched strategies.

The PDR program is NOT a style…it’s an advanced trainer development program, studied by experienced martial artists and self-defense experts from around the world. Team members come from diverse martial arts, security and fitness backgrounds. What was needed was program director with sound martial arts, business and event management experience, who also understood self-defense, fitness and traditional martial arts communities. Enter Tom Arcuri.
Tom has an extensive traditional, self-defense and sport martial art background with twenty-eight years of experience. He holds advanced rank in multiple martial arts and is a 6th Dan in Goju Karate. Tom also enjoyed a successful competitive career in full and semi contact fighting. He has been teaching martial arts & self-defense to adults and children for over 24 years. From 1991 to present, Tom and wife Dana have run one of the most successful martial arts schools in their region of New York State.
On top of this extensive background, Tom has been training with Blauer Tactical Systems since 2001 and is a top level PDR Systems Coach with advanced certifications in all aspects of Personal Defense Readiness. His passion as a martial artist, diverse martial background (blending traditional, sport and street), combined with his business experience makes him an integral part of Team Blauer.
As program director for Blauer Tactical System’s PDR Division he provides consulting, training seminars, event management and ongoing training for certified team members and at regional, national and international training events.
